Designated in 2015, Pullman National Monument is the first National Park Service unit in Chicago. Preserving the story of one of the first planned industrial communities in the United States, the park includes many historic buildings located in what is now the Pullman neighborhood of Chicago. ⁣ Also within the district is the A. Philip Randolph Pullman Porter Museum, named for the prominent labor and civil rights leader A. Philip Randolph, which recognizes and explores African American labor history. ⁣ On September 4-5, the public will be welcome to take special tours of the new Pullman National Monument Visitor Center and the historic Hotel Florence. Free tickets for these tours will be available day-of on a first-come, first-served basis at the Information Tent, which will be at the southeast corner of 111th Street and Cottage Grove Avenue.
