The “Thrilla in Manila,” as Muhammad Ali himself coined it, on 1 October 1975 is still regarded as the greatest and most brutal boxing match of all time. Now, 50 years on, Nico Ali Walsh revisits the iconic white shorts worn by his grandfather in that very match.   “These were his colors right here, white with black trim. I see this in boxing nowadays, I know exactly who they’re taking it from.” Watch the full video with Ali Walsh on @sothebys YouTube as he breaks down how the shorts tell the story of what happened that night, and explores the importance of legacy in his own life.   Come see for yourself while the “Thrilla in Manila” shorts are on view to the public during Sports Week at #SothebysNewYork. The free exhibition is open now through 11 April, before the auction closes on 12 April. #Sothebys #MuhammadAli #thrillainmanila 🎥 filmed at @churchstreetboxinggym
