Freshman Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez won her first primary as an incumbent, defeating former longtime CNBC correspondent and anchor Michelle Caruso-Cabrera in Tuesday's Democratic primary election for New York's 14th Congressional District. "What you all have shown is that a people's movement here is not an accident, it is a mandate," Ocasio-Cortez said on a livestream Tuesday night. New York's 14th District, which includes parts of the Bronx and Queens, is heavily Democratic and considered to be a reliably blue seat.
