This trail has thrown me A LOT of curveballs… But the biggest was a fire closure at the Canadian border which prevented me from ending my thru hike at the official PCT monument. I made my peace with it at the time. I had still hiked 2,500 miles over the course of 5 months! There was a lot to celebrate. Truthfully though, I always knew that until I got to see this monument for myself I’d always have some unfinished business with the Pacific Crest Trail.
As a lot of you know I immediately got pregnant after finishing my thru hike. My daughter is now 1 and has joined me for 100s of miles of hiking since she was born. The reality of mom life though (especially when I try to prioritize getting us outside) is that getting content organized in a timely manner is basically impossible so I hope you’ll indulge me over the next couple of weeks as I catch up on sharing this adventure back to the PCT.
