Tafeni English-Relf, the director of the Civil Rights Memorial Center, is taking on the position of Alabama state office director. The Alabama state office will have a more local focus, with priorities including eradicating poverty and strengthening voting rights. The new state office will use its outreach functions and community engagement activities to further the SPLC's goals of building an inclusive community and shifting political power to underserved communities.
