When renovating a bedroom, apart from beautiful and comfy furnishings it’s important to think about decorative lighting.
No matter if you choose ambient lamps and sconces, or overhead lights, there are some things to take into account when selecting your fixtures:
- Ductwork, plumbing, (sometimes) sprinkler pipes, framing, and electrical connections can all be found in ceilings throughout any house. They may affect your lighting placements.
- J-boxes for decorative lights are smaller and slimmer than recessed lights so sometimes it’s easier to get a light where you want it if you go with decorative lights.
- Patch-in or trimless cans are always a great solution for a clean ceiling, especially if you’re trying to highlight the decorative fixtures in that space.
- Some sconces require a smaller than usual j-box. That’s typically written on the light specifications, so it’s important to share it with us as soon as possible.
