We are nearly ONE MONTH out from our Title IX Banquet. This weeks feature is current Athletic Academic Advisor Kayla Kovar. Before her role of mentoring T-Birds, Kayla competed for suutfxc from 2011-2015 and holds the SUU indoor shot put and weight throw records, as well as the outdoor hammer throw, discus throw and shot put records. She earned the title of NCAA DI Outdoor T&F Mountain Region Women’s Field Athlete of the Year in 2014, after qualifying for the NCAA DI Outdoor Championships in the discuss throw, shot put, and hammer throw. Today, Kayla is pursuing her Master’s Degree in Sports Psychology and hopes to continue aiding and supporting student-athletes; “Working closely with student-athletes has been an amazing experience, especially since I have been given the opportunity to work for my Alma Mater.” Kayla’s advice for current female athletes: “Never stop believing in yourself and your capability.
