As we get closer to our Title IX Banquet on September 21, we are featuring SUU Alum and Hall of Famer, Lori McCurdy Lopez. Lori played volleyball and softball for the T-Birds in 1980-1982. She was named Female Athlete of the Year in 1982 and was All-Conference, All-District, and All-American in both volleyball and softball in 1982. Today, Lori lives with her family in Tacoma, WA and looks back at her time in a T-Bird uniform often. “After 40 years since I played my last game, I have remained friends with most of my teammates! I cherish the times we have gotten together and reminisced.” A message Lori has for all current female student-athletes is: “Appreciate your opportunity to participate in collegiate athletics.
