As we continue our countdown to our Title IX Banquet to commemorate 50 years of Title IX, this week’s feature is Shaye Springall! Shaye competed 2009-2014 for Thunderbird Track & Field and earned All-Conference status as she lead her team in the pentathlon and 60-meter hurdles. She holds the indoor pentathlon and outdoor heptathlon RECORDS for SUU ⚡️ Currently, she is the Director of Operations for our Track and Field/Cross Country programs and plays a key role in arranging meets for the T-Birds. Shaye’s advice for female athletes: “If you really want something, you need to put in the work! If you want those team championships or first place medals, it’s going to take up most of your time and energy but if you love it, it will be worth it. Sometimes women are seen in a bad light if they are too competitive or tough.
