#OTD in 1967, Thurgood Marshall was confirmed by the U.S. Senate to be the first Black Supreme Court justice.
His time as civil rights lawyer included such victories as Brown v Board of Education, which determined that racial segregation of public schools violated the equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment.
