Ida B. Wells, born #OTD in 1862, was an investigative journalist who traveled to lynching sites where no one else would go. She wasn't intimidated by the threats on her life or the white men who destroyed her newspaper presses. Born into slavery, she went on to co-found the NAACP. Happy birthday, Ida.
