Meet Jahziyah, a brave 16-year-old who was diagnosed with end-stage kidney disease. For the last six months, Jahziyah received dialysis treatment three times a week while waiting for a kidney transplant. He quickly became best friends with Xavier as they were going through similar medical journeys and attending dialysis together. Unfortunately, Xavier passed away just weeks ago on June 18. In the midst of grief came a blessing: a life-saving kidney transplant for Jahziyah. He endured additional challenges—including a 15-day hospital stay following his kidney transplant—before receiving an “all clear” from his doctors. To celebrate, Jahziyah and his mother made a special request—to ring the bell in honor of both completing dialysis and the life of Xavier.
