Meet Reina Barreiro-Talbert, RN, Hemodialysis nurse at Vidant Medical Center. I’ve never done dialysis before. I have had patients with end stage renal disease but I haven’t seen the other side of it. Being able to learn in a safe environment with staff that are patient with me is the most amazing opportunity! I have zero regrets about joining the Hemodialysis Unit. I’m very happy to be where I’m at. You’re seeing the benefits of your work in real time versus seeing a patient on a shift and you never see them again. You don’t really see the progress but with dialysis, you can actually see them get better right before your eyes. It’s so amazing. Right now I’m experiencing the sense of being valued, being part of a great team, and the benefit of a flexible schedule. I love the fact that I can experience that and my teammates can experience it too. I love Vidant and the opportunities that we offer for professional growth and for leadership.
