The Christmas spirit is alive and filled with joy here at Vidant… The Medical Oncology Interdisciplinary Team at Vidant Medical Center recently collected food items and treats to provide special holiday meals for their oncology patients. Thirty bags were filled with care to deliver to patients who will soon be discharged this holiday season – a heartfelt effort Vidant team members carry out annually. For those not able to return home before the holidays or those unable to shop, team members also held a special free “shopping” opportunity in the form of a Santa’s Workshop on the Oncology unit. Gifts of all kinds were collected throughout the month, then wrapped and shared with patients in this festive atmosphere. Live music was provided as well as hot cider and hot chocolate for patients and family to enjoy.
