Today we celebrated #NationalDonateLifeMonth with our annual Linking Hands event at Lake Laupus. This meaningful event is held in April each year through local, regional and national activities to help encourage individuals to register as organ, eye and tissue donors. National Donate Life Month also honors those who have saved lives through the gift of donation. The program included a welcome from Latoya Joyner, community relations coordinator, Carolina Donor Services; Prayer by Reverend Sidney Locks, Mount Calvary Free Will Baptist Church, and entertainment by singer Talia Wheatley. Speakers included: Scott Kendrick, MD, Eastern Nephrology Associates Coach William Knight, transplant recipient Angela Mitchell, donor family Kenneth Joyner, member of the transplant waiting list
