SUMMER SPOTLIGHT 2019: Kenedy Schoonveld ‘21 is spending her summer working in Lesotho, Africa. Here is what she says about her experience so far: “I’m interning with the social worker at Beautiful Gate orphanage in Lesotho, Africa. I’m learning what the adoption/reunification processes look like here, as well as things like applying for birth certificates, determining where kids come from to see whether or not a follow-up is necessary, and assessments of each child while they’re here. When I’m not with the social worker, I’m assigned to one of the baby houses where I help with feeding, laundry and dishes.” Sounds like an unbelievable opportunity, @kenedy_schoon!
