Located close to the state’s capital, Pocahontas State Park is Virginia’s largest State Park at 7,919 acres. The park got its name from a contest where a high school student named the park after Pocahontas, a native woman and the daughter of Chief Powhatan, whose story is heavily entwined in Virginia’s history. #virginia #stateparks #vastateparks
