Tristen Hutchings captures Fiesta Days Rodeo win with 92.5-point ride.
Just like the road from event to event is not straight, success is not linear in rodeo. Especially in bull riding. The stock is too good, too unpredictable. And injuries are a 100 percent certainty for the cowboys.
Tristen Hutchings, 24, has delivered back-to-back Wrangler National Finals Rodeo berths. But he has admittedly never had a season like the current one. It has been a seatbelt-required roller-coaster ride. The 24-year-old found himself at the apex at the Fiesta Days Rodeo in Spanish Fork Utah.
Hutchings delivered a 92.5-point ride on Frontier Rodeo's Cold Roll, netting the top prize of $12,267.
"The night before they rode him for 89, so I knew he should be a good one. I thought he was going to go right. He went into my left hand, and he was up and down. It was really cool," Hutchings said. "It's everything someone dreams about when you get on a bull. It was a lot of fun."
