A week of work, alot of learning, some custom metalwork and the worst sunburn I have definitely ever had, we got the roof finished on our house. We decided to put a metal roof on in the hopes that we will never have to do it again. Our original plan was to put insulation in the attic, seal it up and put the shingles on. When we got the old shingles off we realised it would be better to replace the sheathing as well (plywood holding the shingles on). We used to have 3/8" plywood with 3 tab grey singles and now we have 5/8" tongue and groove particleboard and old hickory coloured Decra metal roofing. You can see the what the old colour looks like on the garage.
