The latest iteration of the BMW Art Makers program features the exhibition ‘The Green Ray’ by artist Mustapha Azeroual and the curator Marjolaine Levy, presented at Les Rencontres d’Arles, the south of France’s annual photography festival. Each year, the BMW Art Makers program supports the creation of an experimental visual arts project in response to contemporary social and environmental challenges.
Azeroual’s series reimagines photographs taken by sailors crossing the Arctic, Indian, Pacific and Mediterranean oceans. Colorful, pastel photographs stand at more than 4m high, engaging the physical and visual space in an otherworldly presentation. For a fully immersive experience, furniture within the exhibition is made from eco-responsible materials by BMW designers 🌈
‘The Green Ray’ is on view at the Cloister of Saint-Trophime in Arles until 29 September, after which the exhibition will travel to Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez, Art Basel Paris in October, and will be re-imagined for Par...
