(Part 2/2) After announcing the names of the newly sponsored students to their parents in the Jiti community, we also visited the students at their school to reveal the news to them directly! Subject to a rigorous selection process, each student and their family were visited and interviewed to assess their economic need, academic performance, and other key criteria over the course of several weeks. The anticipation in the room was palpable, but the students were absolutely ecstatic when their names were called! They all committed themselves to focusing and working hard to maintain their academic performance to make their families and The Sonder Project proud.
