During our recent trip to Malawi, we held a roundtable discussion with many of our sponsored high school students from Kasikidzi to hear in their own words how our sponsorship program is impacting them and their families. One of the most striking facts we learned is that only 15% of the students' parents had made it to their final year of high school. The majority had dropped out due to various reasons such as lack of money for school fees, teen marriage/pregnancy, or the need for them to stay home to take care of siblings and work on their farm. It's exciting that most of these sponsored students will be the highest educated members of their families as a result of these structural blocks being lifted, paving the way for them, their younger siblings, and hopefully their own children to finally pursue a path of higher education. That's what we call a bright future! 💡 #SponsoredStudentTuesday #StudentSponsorship #EducationIsKey #CareerDevelopment #SustainableDevelopment #MalawiSchoo...
