We've been posting loads of content from Malawi the past 2 weeks, but we also have a ton going on in Burkina Faso! In October, we sponsored our first 30 Burkinabe high school students! Last week we distributed backpacks to each of the 20 girls and 10 boys in the cohort containing supplies and materials for the term including: textbooks, school bags, sneakers, writing utensils, and menstrual pads for girls! One of the most unique and sustainable aspects of our sponsorship initiative is that we do not just provide school fees, but also the other necessary materials which are financially out of reach for families. Without access to these materials, students still struggle to maximize their education. Our sponsored students and their family members in Burkina Faso are feeling confident, excited, and ready to kick off the term!
