How exactly do we select our partner communities for well drilling projects? A request for a well can come from anywhere - from a partner, a donor, or, most commonly, from a community themselves. As long as its within our geographic reach, we visit the community to understand the impact and sustainability of a potential well. We evaluate all existing water sources, number of households who could potentially benefit, and the level of community participation and engagement that would be generated. All of these are assessed through several on-the-ground visits by our field team. If all of these metrics are aligned, we move forward to form a gender-balanced community committee who we work with to execute the project.
