Team USA is on the board. 🥈 • Divers Sarah Bacon and Kassidy Cook snagged silver in the women’s synchronized 3-meter springboard today, earning Team USA its first medal of the Paris Games. 👏 • The pair finished with a five-dive total of 314.64, putting Americans on the event’s podium for the first time since 2012. 🤯 • Bacon and Cook’s score landed them behind China’s team of Yani Chang and Yiwen Chang, who took gold (337.68), and ahead of Great Britain’s Yasmin Harper and Scarlett Mew Jensen (302.28). 🥇🥈🥉 • While Bacon and Cook have been diving together since 2019, this was their first Olympics as a pair after missing out on the Tokyo Olympics. Cook, however, competed in the 3-meter springboard competition in the 2016 Olympics, making her the first U.S. diver to compete in non-consecutive games. 👀 • What events are you watching today, GISTers? 🏊‍♀️🏀🤽‍♂️ #thegist • (c/o Getty Images) • #womenssports #diving #olympics #paris2024
