During the Paris 2024 Olympics opening ceremony, South Korean athletes were mistakenly introduced as North Korea. ⁠ ⁠ The International Olympic Committee (IOC) issued an apology, and South Korea’s Vice Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, Jang Mi Ran, requested a meeting with IOC President Thomas Bach. ⁠ ⁠ South Korea’s Foreign Ministry was asked to file a formal complaint with the French government.
