While women make up only 25% of the STEAM workforce, less than 5% of that are women of color. Organizations like blackgirlsdoengineer are here to change that. Located in Houston, Texas, Black Girls Do Engineer is an organization dedicated to developing, providing access, awareness, and advocacy to young African American girls and women. Serving ages 6 to 21 in all areas of STEM, Black Girls Do Engineer, provides both professional and personal mentorship and growth regimens, STEM projects, activities, challenges and summer camps. As well as path guidance from STEM industry professionals. Black Girls Do Engineer is dedicated to providing girls and young women with the tools to not only choose STEM professions but excel in the STEM industry! So while we highlight those who have paved the way this Black History Month, let's also celebrate those who are carving out their impact now! Check out Black Girls Do Engineer at
