If you plant it they will come! We spotted a Monarch butterfly on our butterfly weed (asclepias tuberosa) at Cates Farm Park! Monarch butterflies are active in our state twice a year: from May to July when they return from wintering and from mid-September to early October as they head south to Mexico before it gets chilly.
