#FBF to last June when senior co-captain jamesjasperson set the World Record for the fastest mile run in full firefighter gear and SCBA (self contained breathing apparatus) - 6:33.3!!! His gear weighed over 50 pounds. He did this to raise over $1500 for fourseasonfighters ! James is a part-time firefighter with the South Whatcom Fire Authority. He has continued to work during his cross county season, even working an all night shift last night, just 8 days before the NCAA national championships. We are so proud of James and all of our other student athletes for what they do athletically, academically, and in the community! westernwashingtonuniversity wwuathletics gnacsports ncaa ncaadii ustfccca #worldrecord #mile #firefighter #charity #rolemodel #wwu #runforWWU
