The Southwestern Athletic Conference released the 2016 preseason All-SWAC awards and Mississippi Valley State collected three spots on the two teams. Lardi Issaka earned a spot on the first team while Heather Croddock and Mariana Balbao both landed on the second team. The Devilettes, who finished the 2015 campaign as regular season champions, also were predicted to have a second-place finish with 146 points.
