Our tanenbaumchat Chesed Solidarity Mission to Israel returned to Toronto yesterday after an incredibly impactful week away. Having started the trip off on a solemn note, meeting with freed hostages and those who lost family on October 7, our trip ended on a more optimistic one, celebrating the resilience and spirit of the Israeli people. Highlights of the last leg of the trip included: helping the residents of Kibbutz Zikim pack their belongings so that they may return home, a visit to saveachildsheart to interact and play with children from all over the world awaiting surgery, and a Tel Aviv graffiti tour of hope. The trip ended with a final dinner in which our students reflected on how they plan on sharing this life-changing experience with our school community.
