Before we sign off for Shabbat we wanted to send one last dispatch from tanenbaumCHAT’s Chesed Solidarity Mission to Israel. Wednesday and Thursday were a whirlwind of unforgettable events for our students. They visited the Kotel, took part in numerous volunteer initiatives in support of the seniors and the food insecure and listened to some truly fascinating talks by historian Gil Troy and Aryeh Lightstone (a key player in the Abraham Accords). Our students also had the opportunity to visit Hostage Square, where they heard first hand from an expectant mother whose husband was murdered on October 7 and joined an uplifting impromptu kumzits after. The jam-packed two days culminated with dinner at a restaurant that turned into a dance party. Said the restaurant manager whose team is still mourning the loss of two employees at the Nova Festival on October 7, we had to eventually re-open because “that’s what Israelis do.” Click the link in our bio for more photos or visit tanenbaumchat.org...
