Toronto and the GTA is blessed with a vibrant arts scene and recently our tanenbaumchat Drama, Music and Visual Arts students have been fortunate to experience it first-hand. In October, our Grade 11 and 12 Drama students racked up 525,600 miles (approx) heading to stratfest to experience Rent the musical. Last week, our TanenbumCHAT Singers attended a performance at the Toronto Symphony Orchestra where they not only enjoyed Grammy, Tony and Emmy Award-winner Audra McDonald performing a selection of songs from her incredible career, they were privileged to have a “meet and greet” with the evening’s Concertmaster who shared her career path, life choices and tips for overcoming performance anxiety. Last but not certainly least, sandwiched between these two incredible experiences was a Visual Art field trip where our Grade 11 Art students spent the day at Peach Berserk (an event space downtown) learning how to create their own unique silk screens and print them on t-shirts and tote bags. ...
