This week tanenbaumchat commemorated Holocaust Education Week with a combination of in-class activities and guest speakers. Ms. Levy’s Grade 10 Academic Hebrew class gained a better understanding of the Shoah through a poster exhibition from Yad Vashem. On Monday, former TanenbaumCHAT teacher Carol Lipszyc recounted her mother Rose Lipsyc’s testimony via
carryingtestimony.ca. This morning, our school welcomed 95 year-old Elly Gotz to a standing-room-only Hennick Family Atrium to hear his incredible story of survival. Todah rabah to everyone who helped make this important week so memorable, in particular our student-run Holocaust Education Committee and staff advisor Ms. Urowitz ’89 for helping to facilitate the week.
