In recognition of International Holocaust Remembrance Day today, co-heads of our student-run Holocaust Education Committee Brooke B. and Kyle G. started off period 3 with an announcement about two school-wide initiatives. The first was a call out for poems and songs to be shared at the Yom HaShoah assembly in April. The second was a reminder that our school will welcome Rachel Libman, the Chief Curator of the Neuberger Toronto Holocaust Museum next week to speak about the importance of Holocaust remembrance and memorialization. “Today, we reaffirm our commitment to remembering the tragedies of the Holocaust, as we live in a time where Holocaust denial and antisemitism are on the rise,” said Brooke and Kyle in their remarks this morning. “We have the moral obligation and responsibility to educate ourselves and not be afraid to raise our voices in unison to declare ‘NEVER AGAIN’.” #findyourself #remembering #holocausteducation #tanenbaumchat
