As a humanitarian crisis continues to unfold before our eyes we were very proud this morning to witness our tanenbaumchat students and staff leap into action in support of Ukraine’s Jewish community. Aside from the donations collected from both students and staff that will go towards the ujafederation’s Ukraine Emergency Relief Fund, we were quite moved by the letter writing campaign that our student leaders helped facilitate in an effort to send messages of hope and support to schools and children's shelters in the Ukraine. As VP Rabbi Mandel told the thecjn earlier this week and classrooms today, his Ukrainian friends are moved by the support they are receiving from fellow Jews on the other side of the world. “[The conflict] will pass and we’ll forget all of the difficulties,” one of Rabbi Mandel’s friends texted him. “But the feeling of brotherhood, of unity, of support and help will remain with us.” #findyourself #supportingthoseinneed #tanenbaumchat #ukraine
