According to Maricopa County Public Health, 86% of all heat-associated deaths occur in the months of July, August, and September. . In 2019 there were 197 heat-associated deaths reported and over 1/3 of them are sustained by those experiencing homelessness. . Last year TCAA’s I-HELP Shelter program assisted 478 adults find shelter and stay out of the deadly heat.
