Found myself in the habit of sharing thoughts about marked holidays, after the holiday. Most of these “days” of recognition deserve to be acknowledged longer than just 1 out of 365 per year, and given we share and depend on the very planet for our existence, I think we owe a bit more than 24 hours and some corporate “promises” to our home. I can do better with this effort as we all can, and there are many other causes that deserve the same amount of weight and attention, such as human rights and equality, justice and well-being for all, and overall empathy for anyone that comes from a different background, upbringing, or mindset that you or myself do. For the Earth, I acknowledge my own efforts towards sustainability attempting to minimize my footprint through my lifestyle. Using the sun to power my home, limiting the amount I consume by limiting the amount of space I have to fill, using reusable or compostable goods to waste less.
