Agility drill for female hockey players with twoodstraining
8 CONE DRILLS
NOTES: Although 8 cones may seem like a lot, these drills are relatively short and require quick and precise footwork. I like to incorporate hip swivels into my routine every so often if I am feeling really tight but it also teaches athletes how to swivel their hips out of their sports setting.
The rest of the drills are 7-10 second burst involving change of direction, and processing.
EQUIPMENT: 8 cones (bottles, balls, markers, etc.)
WORKOUT:
A: Hip Swivels with Shuffle - 2 sets/side
4-8 Drills - perform same movement to cones 4 and 8
B: 4-8: Shuffle - 1 set/side
C: 4-8: FWD/BWD - 1 set/side
D: 4-8: FWD - 1 set/side
E: Random Call Out - 4 sets x 3 cones
- You can write up or come up with random numbers. I used cards from 1-8, and Face cards identifying shuffles, FWD/BWD, and FWD
