On August 28, 1963, thousands gathered at the steps of the Lincoln Memorial to demand an end to racial segregation, discrimination, and inequality. Led by Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., we united under the banner of justice and harmony to stand together for a brighter future. As we commemorate the anniversary of the March on Washington, we are reminded that while progress has been made, the fight for racial equality is FAR from over. The events of the past year have shown us that systemic injustices persist, that the echoes of that march still resonate as we confront disparities in education, criminal justice, economic opportunity, and beyond. As we remember the conviction of those who participated in the March on Washington, we must recommit ourselves to the ongoing work of dismantling inequality and upholding the rights and dignity of ALL individuals, regardless of their background or identity. #MOW60 #mow60thanniversary #MarchOnWashington
