The video of the arrest of Tyre Nichols in Memphis earlier this month is reminiscent of the 1991 video of Rodney King, according to the family’s attorney. The family and their attorney’s saw the video on the January 7 arrest for the first time today. The Shelby County District Attorney’s office in Memphis tells me they expect to release the video to the public later this week or next week. The DA is considering charges against the 5 officers, who are Black, which could come as earlier as this week.
