My girl exploring my CI devices. I love how much she loves them and is curious as to how they work, what part goes where, etc. I’ve been spending a lot of time off air as I’ve been having significant vertigo for the past few days. It’s been challenging yet beautiful. My parents actually needed a refresher on how to communicate with me. Not a real excuse but not living with them and moving across the country has limited the amount of in person interactions we’ve had. I think they gotten used to communicating with me when I have my CI devices on SO that might be the first real negative of my CI journey. In a moment of frustration I actually uttered the words “Remember you used to write messages to me on paper when my hearing dropped?? That’s how deaf I am!” My husband and kids have no issue waving at me or tapping me on the shoulder, implementing extra visual access and ASL. I love it so much.
