Happy #ThetaThursday! Introducing Elly Smith Elly is a member of MC 20 and is majoring in Chemical Engineering. Outside of Columbia, she calls Washington, Illinois home! Elly’s passion for engineering is inspiring to all of us here at Theta. However, Elly’s leadership does not stop in the classroom. This summer, she had to opportunity to attend the P&G Leadership Confernece, a program designed to “give top students immersive experiences in a culture where diverse backgrounds, experiences, and ways of thinking are valued and included.” While there, Elly was able to learn more about a company that champions innovation, diversity, and sustainability. “One of the coolest parts was seeing how many female engineers worked at P&G, particularly in leadership positions,” she said. “Seeing that there are engineering work environments where women are equally represented and valued was truly impactful.” At the conference, Elly and other top students in the nation got the opportunity to explore...
