Introducing 1st year Mikela Scharlach! Since Mik was little she has always wanted to become an engineer and here at UBC she gets to live out her dream by becoming a biomedical engineer. She has always been active mainly skiing and rock climbing, though she found her love for rugby in grade 9. When Mik is on the pitch she is speedy on the wing and she isn’t afraid to make a hard hit. You’ll mostly find Mik studying in the library but if you ever ask her to go watch the sunset or go swimming at the beach in December, she will never say no. Though she isn’t the tallest and her teammates love to remind her about it, she is very mighty and brings a lot of energy to the field! Make sure to come and check out the birds in action!
