Next year we will be returning to a land we love - Afghanistan. In partnership with womenforwomende, we want to highlight some of the incredible work that has been going on despite the near impossible conditions for women in Afghanistan. After the takeover of the de facto government in Afghanistan, Women for Women International was among the few organisations that stayed in the country to continue their work on the ground. In August 2022, Women for Women International was finally able to reopen their training centre in Kabul, where 762 women are currently enrolled. This summer, the organisation also conducted a study on the situation of Afghan women to raise awareness about their resilience and strength and to plan future support programmes. Today 2,646 women are currently participating in Women for Women International's Stronger Women, Stronger Nations programme across Afghanistan in the Kabul, Nangahar, Kunar and Parwan regions.
