I finished a song I never wanted to write. Today is my cousin’s birthday and I am a wreck. I miss him everyday and so much of my time is spent ruminating on what we could have done differently to help him, and ultimately prolong his stay on this planet. So many of us love someone who struggles with addiction in some form.
