It’s long been assumed that heel striking creates more shock than forefoot striking and should be avoided. A forthcoming paper in the Journal of Footwear Science shows this is not the case. Turns out the total impact force during a heel strike is the exact same as the total force during a forefoot strike. All Vimazi midsoles take this into account and, since impact forces vary greatly, they are tuned to respond to the specific force that occurs within each pace zone. The result is optimal cushioning for every runner on every run.
