As a long time Boston resident and BC alumnus, the Boston Marathon has always held a special place in my heart. I fondly remember the time spent at the top of Heartbreak Hill cheering on the runners as they passed into the final miles of the course, and I’ve been working towards this opportunity for over a decade. I was a senior in 2013 when the marathon bombing happened. The moment the news hit on campus, and the following days were terrifying and surreal. No one in my immediate circle was affected by the bombing, but many others were not so lucky.
