Meet the War production SouthBend 8117C lathe. Not sure on the exact date but it’s 1940’s being war production. It spent it’s early years in the Trenton GM plant when they were awarded the military contract for the Eastern Aircraft Division. Some of you may already know but I was a machinist in the Usaf so this being a part of a aviation contract to support the WWII effort makes it really special to me full of history.
