“Are you sure you want to go out in this? Most people have cancelled,” the ranger told us as we stopped by to pick up our Wonderland Trail permit. “Your stuff is going to get wet and it’s going to stay wet.” YEP! We were sure. Less so after getting to the tops of a couple of climbs, drenched from the unforgiving rain, to find snow. But we pushed on anyway, and eventually the sun came out. And our things dried out. And we warmed up. And the fall colors began to pop. And we had a spectacular adventure. It would have been easy to back out, but I’m sure glad I didn’t.
